Polyrox™ Benefits

Products that will benefit from Polyrox™ are precast elements of all types, bricks and blocks, tiles, pipes and pits, and even railway sleepers, in-situ concrete pouring such as high rise construction, as well as precast walls and flooring. All these highly marketable items would benefit from the reduction in finished weight, resulting in reduced transport and handling costs.

High strength lightweight aggregate, particularly if made to precise size and mass, compared to natural lightweight aggregates such as scoria will result in approximately 20% reduction of cement content for a given concrete strength. With Polyrox™ you can get more product on trucks, less cartage costs of raw material and the ability to manufacture larger elements. Ancillary costs such as drafting, connections and post erection works reduced by the larger size of individual elements.

With Polyrox™, larger ready-mix trucks are possible due to less weight per cubic metre. (Using lightweight fine aggregates could result in concrete at 1800 Kg/m3). All of the weight savings gained are related to LWA and reduced cement content.

For example where normal concrete contains around 1800kg of total aggregate, concrete made from Polyrox™ will contain 600Kg less.

Carbon Credits! One tonne of cement produces 1 tonne of carbon dioxide; therefore about 8 - 10m3 of concrete using Polyrox™ will save 1 tonne of C02.
